My first Vault of Glass run we cheesed the Templar with the Warlock grenade trick.
My first Crota's end run we cheesed the 2nd bridge and pulled the ethernet cable on Crota.
It wasn't really by choice but just happened that way for me.
I think it would be fun going into the new Raid knowing anything about it and just see what happens.
What's your story?

Edit 3: Thank you everyone for sharing your stories. I'm amazed that most people didn't cheese it for the first time. Now let's break out the crackers and spread the cheese while we reminisce about year 1 and anticipate year 2.

Nope. They new it was my first so we killed tje templar legit
-
First crota raid... Yes
-
My first VoG was 100% legit, but my first time at Crota was when every LFG group wanted to cheese the entire thing, so 1 for 2.
-
Probably

-
My first raid we sat on top of one of the hobgoblin rocks during templar fight.

Edited by Dannyboy: 8/9/2015 12:53:18 AMDid my first raid legit the first day VoG was open, 5 1/2 hours of cursing, yelling, and cheering, and then Atheon was dead and I had a shiny white shader and a ship along with a few cool new guns.
-
Everything legit before the cheeses were even out
-
We pushed the templar off i thought thats how you were supposed to do it until the patch i realized it was wrong
-
Unfortunately the people I did my first raids with cheesed. I was disappointed but wanted to see the rest of it so I went along with it.
-
I did them all before an exploit was known. Mainly bc the people I play with are the same way. As of the past few months though I have had less and less friends playing Destiny...and more new friends don't know what a full legit raid is anyways. It'll get to the point where most people won't do a raid until they hear about a cheese/exploit a few days/weeks/months after that specific expansion comes out. Just bc it seems easier doesn't always mean it makes the gameplay smoother and less difficult in the long run. Bc if all you do is exploit...then you take away the skills learned. There is a difference between taking advantage of a class ability and abusing a game mechanic to avoid confrontation of the way the game should be played.

Yup. Cheese the shit out of VOG.
-
When I did my first raid, it was the week it was released. At that time, there were no cheeses. I went through it with one guy (the default leader) who spoke spanish and english. He was the only one who'd already completed it and he had to explain each section in both languages. Needless to say, it took a while. Lol

Hell no
-
Nope The clan I ran most of my early raids with were real tight with running stuff with zero shortcuts. Gave me an appreciation for being able to do it all the proper way. Still do like to run VoG as strictly adherent to the mechanics as possible, but I only run it on the off chance if I get the occasional invite, so I typically just go with the flow - not my FT, not my place to bark the rules at everyone. As for Crota, 95% of my activity there is and has been solo for a long time, so it gets done as quick as I can do it. Deathsinger & Crota are done 100% legit, but Abyss and Bridge aren't places I need to hang around like fart gas in for longer than absolutely necessary.

No I did my first said legit but we did an old strategy on the Templar that i wouldn't consider a "cheese" but you would jump on the platform off the side of the map and ignore all oracles. Which I miss because it was a whole different experience and when I remember it, it felt like a different part of the raid that doesn't exist anymore, it was fun
-
Never cheesed a raid
-
Is staying up top on Oracles cheesing?
-
Technically no. Because my first raid I joined someone who had atheon cp (got mythoclast) they didn't cheese. My first full raid we cheesed the partly because 2 squeakers where ignoring wat everyone said
-
I soloed my first run on VoG. No cheese
-
Same, fun tho never cheesed atheon though
-
No coz it took me and my friends about 3 hours to kill the Templar because we were all level 25 and never heard about the "cheese"
-
Cheese first Croat but not vog
-
No because my group had no idea how to haha
-
Usually I get put voted when choosing whether or not to cheese, raid leader goes OK who down for cheesing the bridge and everyone goes hell yeah and I'm like let's do it legit just for fun and their like I ain't got time for all that.... My first VoG completion was bawls out hard core though did the whole thing straight up.
-
Nope. We did all of VoG legit and it was a blast
