I will never complete it for two reasons.
- I see no point in beating Skolas as there is next to nothing to get for it and what you do get is pretty useless outside of the PoE. Not to mention its not even a guaranteed reward. Its once again just RNG.
- I am far too lazy to hunt down all the Golden Chests.

Why don't you just tell us you are not good enough to do it? Then maybe people would offer help instead of hate. This post screams "wahhh help me wahh" "it's not worth it" lmao, thats what all the scrubs say. HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW, YOU NEVER BEAT IT.

I know what you can get from beating him and there is not a single thing you get from beating him that would be of any use to me on any level. I have had 3 level 34 characters for over a month and have at least 1 level 34 for over 2 months. If I actually wanted to beat him I would have by this point. The simple fact is that the rewards for doing so are very lackluster. I just don't see the point in spending time and effort doing something that's moderately difficult that gives me almost nothing in return.

Gonna translate this post so others can understand your two reasons for not getting the Triumph emblem: 1. Waaa, I'm not good enough to beat Skolas so I'm gonna play off my failure by saying I don't want the emblem anyway because people will care about my personal decision not to get the emblem, which again is really just a cover to excuse my failure. 2. I'm too busy sulking over where I am in life to be bothered to get golden chests that can literally be gotten in less than a half hour with a simple Google search that a 5 year old would understand. Let me guess, you're one of those entitled people that feels Destiny was a complete consumer ripoff and it was a conspiracy to cut content and make more money. In all seriousness, its a game man. If you're so uninterested in doing new stuff, why play at all?

Made me go in areas you normally never go, so i recommened it to anyone. Edit: skolas fight is also fun imo the first few times you beat it

You are talking to someone who only does the nightfalls, weeklies, and then maybe 3 or 4 strikes and calls it a week at this point. I have other games that I can get much more enjoyment out of and just don't see the point in putting in the time for something that is pretty much meaningless.

I feel ya. I don't even do weeklies anymore. Just play pvp, nightfalls if i feel like it and will always raid with buddies. Just saying that gathering all chests and ghosts gave me a fresh look on destiny, exploring patrol gave me more fun i've had in weeks. Also i've been playing bastion, god of war, fifa. It's nice to play something else if you're burned out on destiny. Seems like destiny is changing alot for the better imo. Let's hope taken king is as good as the hype makes it look, and that it will last:)

Lord of Wolves is beastly, Queenbreakers Bow is fun to use and surprisingly good when you get a feel for it, dregs promise sucks balls lol. The elemenal primaries drop so infrequently, and are generally so bad, its painful. The only ones that are decent are the handcannon and scout rifle, but they come with very bland perks. They just have decent base stats :/ Its so strange how the current top-end, longest and toughest PvE encounter yields poorer rewards than past raids. Black Hammer, Fatebringer, VoC, Fang, Found Verdict, Swordbreaker, Mythoclast (though to be fair as its an exotic its better compared to the Cipher weapons) all miles better rewards than the tat that Skolas occasionally remembers to serve up...

Exactly. Which is why I just don't see the point. If you like certain items then go for it i am not saying its completely pointless for everyone. I am simply saying that for me personally it would be a waste of time as I am interested in any of the things that PoE offers.

I will say skolas is actually fun to do I recommend giving it a shot sometime not for loot but just to do it. It's a decent encounter

Then yeah you might not find the fight as enjoyable as I have Triumphs aren't a big deal tho anyway so I wouldn't bother if it's bot something you enjoy

you get an armor core and weapon core, as well as an etheric light, so 3 end-game items, a bunch of rep, a REALLY good chance at the exotic bounty, a tiny chance at an elemental primary, and finally a shader/ship/emblem if you brought a key (which you should). oh and the normal chest rewards. thats alot more than "next to nothing" for beating Skolas just once. [and Grimoire/progress towards triumph.)

Actually, none of that is particularly worth while. The armor can have decent stat rolls and basic raid perks (bonus heavy, bonus special, etc) but the PoE specific perks are not much incentive since PoE on the whole is not worth the time or effort. The weapons are often insultingly bad compared to any other raid equivalent. The elemental primaries are just as bad but elemental flavored. Etheric light can be gained by doing the 34 with considerably less effort or time investment. The shader/ship/emblem are only rewards for collectors, no one else really cares about them. In fact, I can't recall interacting with anyone who actually defended PoE 35 as worth while until now.

of course end-game gear becomes less worth-while after accumulating enough, but its also another chance at getting them. tell me, did you think the skolas rewards absolute garbage week 1 or 2? its also a huge bundle. yes, there are other alternatives that are easyer to get, like NFs having E. light, but does any other event offer so much stuff guaranteed in one? Skolas is not that hard, only slightly more time consuming. but hes doable in an hour and change, easy. I ran through with some friends that never beat Skolas, and we did it in 2 hours 15-ish minutes. (third guy swapped out cuz life, w/e). its really a value bundle of reliable AND unreliable rewards. yes, other raid primaries are better, but they drop unreliably, just like Skolas'. dont get me wrong, id like some reward tweakage for Skolas too, but as he is, he provides a huge value, compared to other rewards. yes, they are not worth doing repeatedly (ive only done him a handful of times for the reasons you've stated), but he is definitely worth doing once.

I'm not saying this to be contradictory but yes I felt they were pretty bad week one. I wore them because it was the easiest way to hit 34 and I was under the false impression that the gear might actually get better. You can complete a 32 and 34 in less time than a 35 for the same guaranteed rewards and less hassle. And as far as killing Skolas at least once I'm not sure I agree with that either. I found the fight to be laughably random with the essence tainting and the mines are just artificially increasing the tension by forcing you to sprint across the map while passing taint. Is it hard? No I don't think so. Is it fun? No, I can't say as I find it fun or worth recommendation even for the "rewards". Even for the exotic bounties, I've had more drop on the 34's than I've seen for Skolas so it isn't even worth doing for those. The only value to Skolas at this point is for the triumphs if you want a shader and bragging rights.
