No, they do not need beards in Destiny. You were not meant to change your personal appearance after you created your toon, you were meant to think about it before creating it first.
You will never be a true snowflake ever in this game nor do you need to be either.
Destiny is NOT an mmo it only has a few aspects of mmo's.
Destiny is an open world fps rpg.
