I'm sure there's someone in Bellvue with a chart that showed HoW weapon and gear adoption was really down compared to TDB, and this downward trend coincided with the introduction of weapon and gear ascension. And I'm sure someone in a decision-making position drew the incorrect conclusion that the correlation implied causation. This person probably further concluded that, if Destiny players were empowered to take their favorite things with them, they wouldn't adopt the new things. In reality, the weapon and gear designers just did a really poor job of making appealing weapons and gear for HoW. But I'm not sure you see that when you have horseblinders for data and charts.
