Currently there are only 3 non-material currencies in Destiny.
Glimmer: Glimmer is used for many things and can be obtained in many ways. Everything from buying ships to upgrading weapons costs glimmer. The total amount of glimmer you can hold is 25000. Certain consumables can be used to cause glimmer to drop from enemies, more on those later. Glimmer is shared between all of your characters.
Vanguard Marks: Vanguard marks are used to purchase gear from the Vanguard on the Tower. These marks can be acquired by completing daily and/or weekly activities or from any of the strike playlists. You can also trade Vanguard marks at the Vanguard quartermaster in exchange for planet materials. Vanguard marks are not shared between characters.
Crucible Marks: Crucible marks are used to purchase gear from the Crucible and faction vendors on the Tower. These marks can be acquired by completing any Crucible activities, this includes Iron banner matches and Trials of Osiris matches. You can also trade Crucible marks at the Crucible quartermaster in exchange for planet materials. Crucible marks are not shared between characters.
Yeah this one was short, I gave currencies their own page in case more are added later.
