I know estimated specs of a nova bomb.
The core collpase of a supernova is about 100 foe
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supernova#Interstellar_impact
100 foe is approximatley 10^44 joulesx100
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foe_(unit)
10^44 joulesx100 is about 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 joules
or around 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 yottajoules (the sun puts out about 400 YJ per second)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joule#Yottajoule
you got it so far? Good.
Now the height of the nova bomb is about...50 meters or so (cant find any exact measurements but this video shows proper height https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yytp7hCYXfU ) this is obviously not enough height to make it go through orbit.
Figuring out the radius of the novabomb was tough but I was able to get an estimate. The novabomb blast is roughly the radius of a control zone in control as you can see in this video at 2:29
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ax1n6B3beY
And the control zone length from the middle is about the length of one guardian as seen in this video at 5:11 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGaTJJnzc6I (you just have to slightly turn the dead hunter.) And the size of the average guardian is about 7 ft 7 in tall http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2v03r6/how_tall_are_guardians_a_fairly_inaccurate/
7 ft 7 in tall is about 2.3 meters. Now we plug in the results into this handy dandy calculator http://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/geometry-solids/hemisphere.php
(yes the nova bomb is a hemisphere. You can see for yourself when using vortex.) and the results we get are as follows:
r = 2.3 m
C = 14.4513 m
V = 25.4825 m3
A = 33.2381 m2
B = 16.619 m2
K = 49.8571 m2
C = base circumference
V = volume
A = curved surface area
B = base surface area
K = total surface area
So here we have the power of the dying star across a very small space. Sound good so far? Great, because next we will be identifying the speed of the nova bomb. Now excuse me while I go get the speed of the nova bomb on my warlock. I will be back shortly.
Alright! So my warlock doesn't have lance so i can't get the max speed unfortunately. After doing some testing, I figured that each step your guardian takes without running is about 1 foot. The distance that all 3 of nova bombs traveled to was about 13 feet on average, I measured this by walking to where the nova bomb hit. The time it took to go 13 feet was about 3 seconds. We divide 13 by 3 and get 4.33333333 infinitely so I'll just bump it up to 4.5. 4.5 feet per second is roughly 3 miles per hour. Not the fastest moving object but faster than me in 6th grade. I am unfortunately unable to provide evidence to my claims but if you have any evidence that contradicts mine then just show it and I'll adjusts my results accordingly.
So for my final analysis we have 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 yottajoules of energy in a nova bomb
A guess of 50 feet of maximum height for nova bomb
r = 2.3 m
C = 14.4513 m
V = 25.4825 m3
A = 33.2381 m2
B = 16.619 m2
K = 49.8571 m2
Above are the measurements for nova bomb
So in short we have a slow moving super that can destroy anything*
*It seems that you can control what your novabomb destroys as allies and the environment can withstand it just fine whereas creatures of the darkness and certain objects can be damaged.
Can I cross the bridge?
