As you've found out, the salvage card is bugged and not unlocking. Your friends may have unlocked the card [u]before[/u] it became bugged.
The salvage wins are still being counted towards grimoire, and will still award you with the 5 points at 25, 50; and 100 wins. The only thing that won't unlock at the moment is the actual card worth 5 points
