Recently starting reading D&D rules
And now I bought two manuals and started trying to figure out how to play and force my siblings to play. Was this a bad decision?

I used to play with my siblings. Made a bunch of characters but never got a real campaign going, just did random dungeons. I'd recommend finding people who are into that sort of thing to play with. It's way more fun that way.
