[b]THE OVERHANGING SHADOW: A WORLD EVENT.[/b]
[u]LOCATION: Ensmooth, a relatively forgotten town on the coast of Paranorm.[/u]
[i]Ensmooth (pronounced Ens-mooth, not In-smooth) is a large, yet mainly derelict fishing town. Its citizens are wary of outsiders, and many share a similar countenance, dubbed "the look", wherein their slightly bulging eyes and oddly pale skin seem unfailingly hostile to all and sundry. There have been a string of disappearances in the town, both locals and outsiders. It came to the Mafia's attention after one of their local chiefs, who ran a salt production factory in the town, disappeared suddenly. They're looking for a team to hunt after their inside man. It's recommended any Hunters that take the job avoid traveling together or being seen publicly together, so as to avoid drawing suspicion. Whatever you find may haunt you, but the riches promised are too great to resist.[/i]
[b]The Story so far:[/b]
[i]Eva, the Bunkman couple, Etana, Phantom, and Chelovek have arrived in Ensmooth. Several of them have roomed at local innkeeper Burris Gilby's boarding house, while Etana and Chelovek have set off for the north side of town and the three canning and salting factories owned by Roger Albertin, the area's Mafia chief. Both Etana and Chelovek have investigated the factories owned by Albertin, and found nothing. Jaque has investigated a strange presence that has dogged the investigators, but found no source. In the early morning, the group sits down in the boarding house's breakfast room to compare notes and form a plan of action. Later, after each member receives a strange gift, Jaque and Faith are captured by the Order of Dagon, who have dragged them to the crypts beneath their temple. Under the cover of darkness, a mob of townsfolk approach Gilby's inn. Chelovek, Jade, and Etana will soon discover why...[/i]

Jaque and Faith open the doors to what they assume is the rite without knowing what great evil is within there.

Edited by Ex PI: 8/12/2015 12:59:26 AMInside, you find a strange portal. The cloaked figures are passing through it, oblivious to your presence. Suddenly, as the last exits, the portal vanishes, and a boom can be heard from above. The Rite is after Gilby and the inn.

Jaque rushes out to see Jade and the other Hunters defending the Inn an Jaque knows that night time is closing in and Jade's abilities will be weaker. Jaque is uses the Shadows of the cultist against them, But it is only enough to hold a few of them in so Jaque must wait till night time to unleash the darkness within him. Jade is fighting in front of the inn she knows that they are getting in through other means. She sees Jaque but knows he can't be of use till night time. Jaque rushes back in the temple and goes upstairs where the boom was heard.

Suddenly, a group of black helicopters swoops in over the city. Rhino teams fast-rope in and open fire on the mob, ripping them to shreds. Delta Green has arrived.

The lead DG soldier halts his busy torching of one of the townspeople's bodies. [b]We'll explain.[/b] They swiftly break into the now-empty Rite temple, and uncover maps, charts, idols, and other artifacts. [b]Alright, here it is: Captain Oscar Marcham, who founded Ensmooth, struck a deal with Dagon, an ancient aquatic being. In return for marrying into the Dagonite species, the people of Ensmooth would receive untold riches.[/b] [b]Anybody who figures this out gets axed, and every single person here who has the look and was raised in the Rite will eventually become a Deep One; a fish-human hybrid.[/b]

Jaque is yelling. "Do not kill the civilians! They are being mind controlled by the head priest or what ever his name is."

[b]faith has both her guns out and kicks open the doors[/b]

Jade sees the crowd and she steps out side and starts asking why they are here.

The cultists respond by hurling homemade spears and torches.

In the light bright as day the spears nearly an inch from Jades face the light grabs ahold of the spears. With Jade's palm open and facing up she opens her hand and the light drops the spears. The light flows over Jade's body forming an armor of sorts. Jade is in a fighting stance of elegance. "You wan't in this inn you have to face me, and you know what they say, you mess with the cat you get the claws." At that moment claws made of light forms on Jade's hand.

Jaque snaps back into awareness(my way of saying i was afk) realizing he has been imprisioned and faith pulled the pin on the cube he attempts to use the shadows to find the keys.

[b]in the crypt, faith pulls the pin and presses the button on the cube[/b]

The cube unfolds into a tiny pistol.

[b]faith examines it[/b]

You pull the trigger of the weapon, which unleashes a ball of blue-white plasma. The weapon literally melts the bars of your cell.
