I have an new Expansion idea to take to the Dev team, DeeJ (Part 1 ): DLC / Expansion Idea: The Teumessian Fox Story: As Darkness draws even closer and the news of Guardians of Europa have already reported Contact of Dark Forces dwelling there and Rasputin is doing everything he can to hold the Darkness back and all attempts are failing. The Speaker calls for emergency meeting with the vanguard and their best Guardians. Hours past and nobody had even the slightest clue on how to stop the darkness till The Stranger arrived. She spoke of a set of relics which could help hold the darkness back long enough. The stranger spoke of the relics being in the hands of a set of Dark leaders. Though concerning, she spoke that these Leaders are currently fighting each other for the darkness’s favour and it was an Opportunity to shift the balance while they are at it. She didn’t have time to explain where to look exactly but before she vanished, she spoke of finding her Friend in London: “The Teumessian Fox” – A mysterious Assassin who is no friend of either The Traveller or the Queen of the Reef but as Times grow desperate.... Alliances need to be forged. You will need to seek out This Assassin and convince him to join you against the Darkness....But be prepared for the revelations of truth; you will find when you do. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Map: London: (Hive/ Cabal / Fallen/Darkness) Once Home of Traveller Politics but was destroyed during the Collapse by Fallen...Now it’s just radioactive wasteland. Shattered parts of London are still safe to explore and now houses some of toughest Enemies you yet to encounter. Explore the streets of the ruin or dwell below into its tunnels. Those who far brave enough can try to get past the iron curtain but none except 1 has returned alive to speak about the Presidium. This Map is 3x bigger than old Russia so expect to a lot of travels on your sparrow as you avoid the cross fire of the residents who live there and sudden radioactive storms which will force you into cover - danger is everywhere. Inspired by Halo 3: ODST, where players can either sneak around London or go on a full assault for honour or glory Mars: Eos Chasm (Vex /Cabal / Fallen/Bandits) The place the traveller once rested before Humanity discovered it..... Now the Vex has claimed it and now the grid domains there. Everywhere nearby is just a rusting wasteland with danger and loot everywhere - A haven for criminals and scavengers alike. The only “Civilised” place is Crime haven but only the desperate and fools go there. 3x times bigger than mars colony with sand storms which blind players and swallow pits that can consume unwary players. Inspired by Rage -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Locations: London: The Presidium: A massive Royal cruiser of the Cabal Empire. Floating above a supply gravity lift in the area of Westminster abbey, T’cun over sees all operations beyond the iron curtain. Whoever controls the presidium...controls the city The Iron Curtain: a Cabal Defence line, housing an army of The Empire’s most loyal soldiers... not to mention alot of Goliath tanks, spectres and AA-turrets. Only 1 person has managed to sneak through their lines. You are going to have to earn his trust if you are to learn his secret. The Ruin: the shattered remains of the West-end...now it’s just a battle ground between The Hive and The Fallen who live there. There are rumours of things far worse than the live that dwell deeper below The Fox Hole: An old train-station and Home of the resistance, Led By “The Fox”. This Social area is only accessible from the ground to prevent cabal Spectres from finding it. Those who manage to survive the Ruin and reach the Fox Hole can find refugee. Here they can stock up supplies and weapons before venturing out into the wild. (Players will have to go into patrol and reach this location on foot to access it - However by completing the “The Teumessian fox” campaign, you will be able to access here by orbit) The Crow’s Nest: once known as the Tower of London...now it’s an Observation Post which watches all operations that the Cabal might be up to beyond the iron curtain. Run by Eyeball (Fox’s Apprentice). Like the Fox Hole, it will offer a range of weapons and gear but you must travel on foot to get there. (Players will have to go into patrol and reach this location on foot to access it - However by completing the “The Teumessian fox” campaign, you will be able to access here by orbit) Mars: The Sea of Rust: Once a spaceport which connected ships to all the other planets. Now it’s just a scrap yard of all the ships that tried to flee the Darkness and failed. Who knows that remains there? Ark fall: A strange Impact point just off the EOS chasm. Intel suggest it might be a fallen kell ship which had crashed in that area but scouts on the ground say it’s something different from what Intel suggest. The grid: a maze made by the Vex to hide something. The Fox says that there is a Portal in there that links to the source of our Vex problem. If anyone can go in there and confirm this...good luck to you Lost land: a wasteland that criminals and Fallen, alike call home. Expect to find run into trouble here but it’s the only way to reach Crime haven Crime Haven: A social area that houses the scum of the solar system. Here players can seek out the black market or take their chances with The Fang. Here players can gamble to try and win exotic gear if they don’t wish to rely on Xur or RNG. But be warned...Fang doesn’t play fair. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 2: The Characters / Vendors and Fractions http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/77214373 Part 3: Bosses and Enemies http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/77214422 part 4: Other http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/77214460 part 5: possible new Subclasses http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/72974009/0/0 part 6: New Exotic Weapon https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/140804005/0/0/1 With this DLC, you would receive 2 Raids, 6 Strikes, 15 missions and 10 PVP maps Thank you for reading my idea. • By current Bungie standards, this is enough content to fill all of Destiny II and it's first DLC pack. Lol. Some good ideas, however, the scope you suggest is not feasible on the current Destiny platform so long as it is still tethered to Last Gen consoles like 360 and PS3. The biggest mistake Bungie made in my opinion was to cater to the last gen crowd. By making the game playable on these systems, they were forced to strip the game down and cut lots of features. Listen to developers talk about the existing maps... Old Russia was actually supposed to be nearly twice as large or more as it actually was, the reason for sparrows was because the maps were originally supposed to be a lot bigger than they actually, but they were ultimately downsized largely in order to allow the game to run on last gen systems. In all of the "Destiny Conspiracy Theory" that has been circulating on the web and forums, attempting to explain why Destiny was not what was originally expected and advertised, my theory is much more mundane. But also more practical. I honestly believe when Bungie set out to make Destiny, they originally planned to launch it on PS4 and XBone only. The game was in development even before the systems came out, it would have had to be anyway, games take a lot of time to develop, especially ones of this size. Due to the economy and other reasons, gamers were slower to transition to PS4 and Xbox1 than was likely projected. Somewhere into development of the game, it was decided to make the game run on BOTH last gen and next gen. In order to do this, a lot of content and features had to be cut mid project to make the transition. Again, this decision was likely made due to slow adoption of Next Gen systems, in efforts to capture the largest initial market share. This would be essential to their "10 year development plan". This is the first time in console gaming history (to my memory) that games were being released for the old system and new system simultaneously 2 years after the new system launch. This is for a few reasons i think. One, the difference between the PS3 and PS4, or 360 and "1", are no where near the quantum leap that was between say, NES and SNES, or SNES and N64. Or PS1 and PS2. With most of the same basic hardware and capabilities, the old gen can do 90% of what the next gen can do. So game developers just give us the 90% in order to keep the full market share. This has adverse effect though. Traditionally it is the games that drive the sale of the system. Even after 2 years of sales, Neither Xbox1 or PS4 have any next gen. exclusive games that are a "Must Have". All the major titles, Destiny, Call of Duty, Battlefield, All the EA Sports games, Elder Scrolls, Dragon age, ALL are on BOTH systems. This has stymied game development immeasurably as developers are not developing games that actually take advantage of the Next Gen capabilities, even 2 years after launch. Madden 16, not even released yet, MADDEN 16, is being released on last gen systems. LAST GEN. THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS PEOPLE.
