No One Cares If You're A Day One "Vet"
Literally no one. It means nothing. It's a title. Get over yourself and stop thinking you deserve things more than other people.
(I'm a day one player and it means nothing to me.)
Edit: You're not entitled to free items just because you bought the game before other people. So stop making petitions galore for them. Grow up.
Edit 2: By year 1 I mean "vets" as they call themselves. Also known as the people who think they're entitled to free stuff.
Edit 3: Most Year 1 Guardians don't know how to read edits.
Edit 4: They're still figuring out how to read, maybe one day.
Edit 5: Nearly 400 replies of pure salt. I feel like the Dead Sea.
Edit 6: Nearing 500 replies. Titans had to put up a new wall around the Dead Sea to contain all the salt water.
Edit 7: At 700 replies the Dead Sea salt levels are beginning to drop. Several life forms with the inability to read have been found in the Sea. The Titans have decreased the amount of control on the Sea.
Edit 8: 800 replies and Guardians still haven't read the tags. What a sad time it is.
Edit 9: At 950 replies the salt is beginning to corrupt the hearts of those who reply. Some keep the light strong in themselves and are able to resist it. However, others have fallen victim to it. Those who have fallen now search for anything to try and be correct. The Titans have now put the city on lockdown. More information later on.
Edit 10: This post has been necrobump'd. The Salt has nearly taken control over everyone, fight back, Guardians.

1 ReplyI'd like the introduction of titles to this game. Then if you've been playing since day 1 you get a little title called "veteran" or something. Then you can get titles for all kinds of things!

It is your actions and how you have used that time that should be the judge of you. You can try to claim how much more of a destiny vet you are but the truth is that nobody but yourself believes in this, making your claim painfully futile . I have been here since shortly before christmas, yet I bet I have achieved more than lots of people who play since day one. I do not say this to make myself look better; i honestly don't care, I'm just trying to show you how flawed that logic is.

4 RepliesActually, as a day one player, first with Xbox 360 then upgraded to Xbox one, i think it's more of a hope for a nod from bungie. Players who have been here since day one, have basically been the reason that there have been new content. If we left and no one new came in, there would be no game called destiny anymore. We as "veterans" just want something that says thank you for helping this become something great. That's all. If your a new player, then welcome to you all. Simple as that. Do I expect something from bungie? No. Not any more. Now I just want a decent DLC in the taken King and not another house of wolves let down.

"It's a title" - so it still matters just as saying "i went flawless" Both go with an emblem which makes it matter even more. Maybe it's just a saying but it's still a title and is rewarded with an emblem. So sry to say but it is still important, matters and people care about it

In the years to come I would expect a little something extra for being loyal to the franchise (if I keep playing) Only small things like Emblem/shader/ghost shells, just cosmetics.

As a player that has been here since September, it is frustrating to me that in order to speak your mind and proving a point on these forums, people will either judge u based on how long u have played this game or what grimoire score u have. In my opinion, I dont give a shit how long u have been playing, it doesn't mean u earned anything special! If u want accessories, buy them! If u want to play more content, buy content! That's how it works. Nothing is going to change that. Stop acting like u deserve free stuff for complaining! I have to admit, I dont like paying for a bunch of content that doesn't have story or doesn't last for more than a week. But stop acting like your special just because u bought the vanilla game! It makes u look stupid and doesn't do anything to improve this game.

I am not some zealot, but I do see a lot wrong with your position. This is one of those times I side with bungie (even if they say it to cover their arse). Year 1 players built the foundation of destiny, anything relevantly good about the game is there because the community thus far. a lot of people just look at the negative or the things that were patched/balanced/nerf that effects them personally. Without all these individual (be it selfish) voices collectively ringing, Destiny would be the same shattered game it would be at launch. Unfortunately this wasn't the genre defining or genre creating game we were sold, but it will be someday. hopefully. Bungie should have a decent idea how to make shooter/adventure games by now (halo) but it's those who play that provide the basis of change for those who will. So before you say supporting a game in it earliest stage is meaningless just take a step back first and evaluate whether you want to be part of the change, the problem, or not part of it at all.

We also had casual bathroom smash because I brought my day 1 vet coffee mug to the meetings. Day 1 vet status is premium bruh

I too am a day one player and this is exactly right. I'm a gamer like anyone else here and going around puffing your chest out because you are a day one player means nothing. Win in the crucible and beat others, then you can puff your chest out.
