Cemeteries, graveyards, whatever you want to call them, how do you feel when visiting them?
I ask because today was my first time visiting a cemetery alone in a long time, and I almost forgot how relaxing and peaceful they seemed to be. The reason I stopped by one is because the cemetery my son is buried in is right next to my dentist's office, so after my appointment today I thought i'd go check on him and brush off his grave. It's not unusual for me to visit him, this was just the only time i've done it on my own in a while.
I don't quite know what it is, but despite being located by a busy road and a neighborhood of townhouses, it felt like I was a world away from everything else, and I haven't felt that kind of peace for a while until then. Some people feel like cemeteries are gloomy or creepy, and I could understand why, but I tend to feel at peace and actually able to focus for a change. I suppose it's just a reminder of the fate we're all bound to reach eventually, and that perspective tends to put a lot of things...well, "in perspective".
No matter how different any of us are, we all can find unity in that one day we will die.

I hear people are dying to get in

I went to a cemetery in a different country. Other than that, I really haven't checked them out.

how do you feel about cemeteries
They feel rough, and occasionally rocky.
-
I feel like they're kind of a waste of space. Not to mention they inhibit nutrient cycling in the ecosystem.

I feel peaceful if I go to one and I'm all alone or if I'm in a group of people and we're the only ones there. If other people I don't know are there I feel slightly awkward. Probably because I have always thought that paying respects to your related deceased was preferably done in privacy.

I really enjoy them at night after eating shrooms.
-
I love it especially when your sitting on a grave and your butt gets tickled by ghosts
-
I don't feel.
-
It's a place where we should be quite and respectful for the souls as they move on.
-
Unsettling. Even dead I'd never want to be under the ground.
-
It was very peaceful to me when I visited my uncles grave, but even so, I never met him

Have a cemetery within earshot of home. Been there a bunch at night. It's eerily relaxing

I feel at peace but I never went to the cemetery at night

I feel a chill at first. Then it's just calm and peaceful. It's a great place for reflecting.

Every time I see one I still think of this... In a car with my grandpa he looks at the cemetery and says "hey how many people do you think are dead in there?" I said "I don't know maybe a thousand?" He said "no all of them"

Like I want to be cremated

They're the dead-centre of town.
