Despite my comment, I'm actually on the same page as you, haha. I doubt whatever 'Destiny 2' is will change that drastically from OG Destiny, simply because of the kind of investment players put into the gameplay. Also, like you touched on, the story/lore of Destiny doesn't seem to have any serialization behind it, so there's no clear "break" in the story that would lend well to a sequel; it's more fluid, focused on the immediate lore [i]as[/i] it's presented to players. I would assume that any sequels would be a chance for Bungie to revamp the engine/upgrade the graphics more so than overhauling the gameplay.
I know I really hammered home the whole "sequels are for making changes" approach, but I didn't necessarily mean I think they [i]will[/i] make drastic changes. I'm just saying that, [i]if[/i] they were going to give them selves a clean slate to work with, they should wait until a sequel to do it. :P
