You know what? I'd played this game since October last year. Got through numerous raids, crucibles and IB all without gjallahorn as I haven't got the luck of the draw (RNG). I'd also killed Skolas recently without gjallahorn. So to me, it doesn't really matter if I have the gjallahorn or not coz I'd enjoyed the game through the use of numerous weapons to suit the specific battles rather than blasting away using the gjallahorn. I will still get 1 gjallahorn for each of my character from Xur coz it's the gjallahorn and it only cost 17sc per piece (cheaper than icebreaker!lol!). However I may not use the gjallahorn much as I don't really think I need it. And yes, those of us who buy the gjallahorn from Xur earned the weapon as do those who get it from the RNG. But one thing I have to say is this: You don't really "earned" your gjallahorn. You get lucky with gjallahorn. But you earn your Thorn. :)
