Necrocasm should fill that primary slot. It has great stability and the best perks. But you'll need to kill a lot of Vex to get it.

Mhm, then kill Skolas, he'll drop a "Bane of Kells". Put that in a Strangers rifle and you'll get the exotic. :) hope this helps.
