Dragon's Breath Buff Ideas

Hey guys, I've noticed that among the Destiny community, the exotic launchers have been placed into pretty distinct tiers. Gjallarhorn is the obvious choice for PvE boss fights, while Truth's tracking and proximity detonation make it quite powerful in PvP. However, I never hear any talk about Dragon's Breath apart from how it doesn't quite stack up to the other launchers. Honestly, I can't blame you guys. The lack of tracking coupled with the slow velocity make it less than ideal for a lot of situations, and the signature solar flare seems to be of limited usefulness. So, I feel that it would help bring the weapon into its own if it were improved in certain areas that it lacks in while making its strong points more noticeable. -Improve the Solar flair; make it last longer, and/or make it apply solar damage over time. This should help its exotic perk feel more special. -Increase the velocity of the rockets to help negate its lack of tracking. -Stack its exotic perk with Sunsinger Warlock perks/exotics (i.e. Sunbreakers, Viking Funeral, etc.) Patience & Time already fills the same role as the BladeDancer's invisibility perks, and with the class specific weapons mentioned in the upcoming Taken King expansion I think it would be a nice touch to make the Dragon's Breath fill its niche more fully. Catering to a certain class might help give it an edge against the other, arguably more powerful launchers. Maybe it increases the length of an applied burn, or even spawns a second solar flare. It would make it a weapon fit for a sunsinger, giving the weapon and the class more utility (not the the sunsinger is lacking, but it'd still be cool) -Adjust the perk so it also turns potential victims into solar flares like a beefed up bloom effect. This one is kinda crazy, but imagine hitting a boss of some sort and all of the minions at his feet turn into weapons against him. That'd be freakin' rad! These are just a few ideas on how to make Dragon's Breath more viable in the future. Lemme know what you guys think.

  • I couldn't agree more with this. It's not really an exotic feeling gun. But if it did lingering burn damage and had a greater velocity, that'd make it sooo much better
