Because of the small vault space we have?

Yeah bungie says they'll still have their purpose, but other than regular crucible, you'll be at a disadvantage in everything else. So from what we know so far, unless you plan to continue doing the old raids and regular crucible the old stuff won't be very useful.

Vault space. If it doesn't get sorted out soon, people will have to delete some older gear to make room for new gear because it will only be useful in crucible and old content.
