"Guess its time to call it a day." Vagantem drifts to sleep in his hotel room. above him, hooded and caped men perch on the building. they have business with Vagantem. And he doesnt even know them... at midnight, the figures begin their heist. they shimmy down a wall to his window. thats strike team A. Strike team B is on the bottom. they plant another device there. a distraction. 30 minutes later, a loud shriek pierces the air. The hotel employees go to check and make sure everyone is alright, but when the approach Vagantem's suite, its empty (Open to any "vigilante's, investigators, or other law bringers to investigate.)

So bored Revy thought as she sat in her living room typing away at her laptop.Recent events certainly have been interesting, even exhausting with her part played, but now everything was tense, a slow type of tense that can drive the most patient of people mad. She's read and documented just about every piece of news having to do with the recent psion incident, from the capture of a leader named Brutus to the collapse of Kai's law firm. She's read everything available to the public, and a few things that weren't as well. But as a result, people got quirky, not that you could blame them. Traffic outside has pretty much plummeted and it didn't seem a recovery was near, her cafe had remained close since the attack just like many of other restaurants in Tokyo Town, and her lack of activity was driving her to near insanity. She decided to have a quick peek at police files, because reading about muggins and assaults was always interesting. That's when she came across a report of a missing person after a series of shrieks were heard. She took a potato chip from her bag and ate it, Now that, is curious. She sat back and debated. You know you want to her subconscious told her. The shop isn't going anywhere, also true. Before she changed her mind she got her raincoat and began to set to the scene. "I'll be back Schroo" she addressed her cat as she headed out.

  • When she arrived at the hotel, the bottom floor of windows on the right side of the building (the ones closer to the alleyway)are gone. Shards lay on the ground in front of them, but its not sloppy like they just broke a window. Nothing is left standing in the frames. There is also a large portion of windows gone where the missing tenants room is.

  • She walks closer to the window remnants and inspects them. (What shape are the shards, are they scattered all around, are they in or outside of the room). She picks up one of the shards and examines the edge, trying to deduce if the window was cut or shattered. She looks at the empty frame, It's probable the windows were removed first before they were broken. She looks through the empty frame and into the tenants room to see what she can observe.

  •
The shards are like just crystals now. They used a sonic emitter to break the windows. So....yeah lets say triangles or something. And the shards are on both sides of the window.
The shards are nearly completely identical and symmetrical to each other. outside the window, directly below, a smashed electronic device lies in the street.

  • The shards are all similar, no, the same, exact copies of each other. That could not be a coincidence. But what could be used to fracture a window in such a way, something that caused this type of pattern would mean the whole window would have to be under the same even tension ... sound! Even, controlled sound could have done this, this is the work of a Sonic Emitter. Were those things even available to the public? If not, then just who was this person who stayed in the hotel? With tha thought in mind she turned to the streets to see for possible escape or entrance routes that could have been used. That's when she notices something in the street, she goes to pick it up.

  • It looks like a crushed gray button. Blue rings follow the lower base of it. Its sparking. It must have been the sonic emitter that was placed on the window. This looks like just about the only clues we can pick up.

  • So I was right she thought with a smile, She took the sonic emitter in her hands, careful to avoid cables, thing was still sparking. If this thing is licensed it cab be tracked back to an owner. With that thought in mind she went back to the room, just maybe she can find clues about the tenant.

  • Gregori turns away from the bizarrely shattered window at the sound of footsteps. They don't belong to the manager. Instead, they belong to a woman. He regards her for a long moment. "I'm Gregori," he says simply. "Did you know the tenant?"
Notifications are VERY glitchy now. Sorry about the gaps.
When you return to the room, you only find a black mask, and the tenants weapons-a M-29 Carbine, a Silenced .45 Auto Pistol, a golden dagger that has a pearl hilt with diamonds and rubies encrusted on the ends, and a bolt-action Skyranger sniper rifle. The mask upon closer inspection has a voice disguiser built in. Its mechanical as well. Slides back onto his face and all that.

  • Favors often cut two ways. A while back I'd needed a place to stay. Now it was time to repay that. The manager had called me not long after the shrieking. One of their tenants had gone missing. Missing people are bad for a hotel's reputation, and what's bad for a hotel's reputation is bad for business. Markov stands in the empty room, his eyes traveling slowly around it. His gloved hands travel over a small night stand. He remembers a time when he used to be able to feel with his fingers. Now it's all just sensory data. He takes a slow look around the room, searching for signs of why the tenant might have gone missing.

  • You only see the broken window and the imprint on the bed. He didnt even go under the covers. The window isnt in shards.... Well. It is but, the window is completely gone not just shattered...

  • (( Sorry for the delay. Busy work day. )) Markov approaches the window, drawing a gloved finger along the edge of the window, checking to see if it's been cut.

  • The only shards are like sparks. Extremely tiny. Pools of them. The window wasnt cut. Its like it was removed right out of the frame! Nothing is left! Complete annihilation actually.

  • Well, that was interesting... Gregori lets out a low whistle, trying to ponder what could reduce glass to something so small. He leans his head out of the window, looking down at the street below. The microwires in his eyes glow a faint blue in the dim lighting. "Tell me about your guest," he says to the manager, who's waiting at the door.

  •
thats what he looked like. Except he has a mechanical right hand, and he wears all black with a cape and cowl. Sorry about the name.
"He uh... He had a black cowl on, it wasnt pulled over though.... He had a black cape, and wore black jeans and a black combat armor piece. He had a strange smile. His name was Vagantem..."

  • The man must have been paranoid to check in like that. Then again, with what happened, maybe he hadn't been paranoid enough. "Who checked him in? I'd like to talk to them. Also, I'll need to check your security monitors," Markov tells the man. "Do you think you can arrange that?"

  • "I'll try, the front desk manager checked him in, but I've already given you as much info as we can. The videos dont show much. They were jammed 2 minutes before the screech occurred."

  • That was a lot of effort for a single man. A lot of tech. I was starting to get a nervous itch between my shoulders. I always got that feeling when I thought I was going to end up in somebody's crosshairs. "Did you find what made the screech?" the man asks, his tone curious. He walks over and begins to rummage through the things the tenant left behind.

  • "It wasnt much of a screech, more a squeal, like a device whizzing until something goes boom. Like it was charging up or something...."
Sonic emitter dude. They shatter glass. This also doesnt end in anyone getting harmed. Sorry to disappoint. But you can track them down and stuff.
The only items of the tenants in the room are a strange dagger, golden blade, pearl hilt. And jewels encrusted on the ends. After that he has his guns-a silenced .45 AP, a M-29 Carbine, and a bolt-action Skyranger sniper rifle. Also a few grenades. Lastly though, a black mask. Looks kind of like a paintball mask. Black. Upon closer inspection it has a voice disguiser. The mask also folds in and out, to reveal the wearers face.
I swear to god if you grab ANY of that stuff....
•
;)
Markov picks up the silenced pistol and acts almost as if he's going to chamber a round. He brings it to his nose and sniffs, trying to tell if the weapon has been fired recently. He checks the rifles next in a similar fashion. "This is some pretty serious hardware," he notes. "Did you ever think about telling this guy to stay someplace else? People that pack grenades and high powered rifles don't lead quiet lives." My best bet was to check around for a sonic emitter. There couldn't be many in the city in private hands. If it was in official hands, then that meant more trouble than I could afford. Gregori stands, thinking, her heavy brow furrowed. Something else occurs to him. The people that had broken the glass had gotten in and out in two minutes. That meant professionals that had learned entrances and exits, where, who, and how. Like I said, the tenant couldn't have a quiet life. "Did any tenants or employees see anything?" Markov inquires.

  • "No. But, two big sectors of broken glass were noted. One in the bottom right corner of our building and then the other where the tenants window was."
btw, it wasnt in and out in two minutes, it was cams were jammed two minutes before they came in. They had done it less than like, one minute lol
•
the dagger was actually a broken sword, but i had it sharpened into a dagger.
"Ok." The man leads you to the bottom floor. The windows on the left side of the building have cracks everywhere, but still havent fallen out. The ones on the right match the ones in the tenants room.
