Optional MM is good and great... until you try it and you get a group of unskilled players and 10 hours later the spire is formed or a troll will pick up the sword and not use it or you have to carry half your fireteam or everyone leaves because it'll be so easy to leave. or no one has the right weapons or someone dies and just leaves or you get paired with an incomplete fireteam or the guys vote kick you to bring their friends in or you can't get cp back by MM and all the hard earned work is gone because you had to go. the minute you run into one of these problems your thoughts will turn to why did bungie do this? or wtf bungie?! or MM is so stupid why did this get implemented? or bungie is dumb! This was a terrible idea . I guarantee you these thoughts will run through your head.
my solution to the problem at hand is to implement MM for fireteams of three to be paired with other fireteams of three. This will eliminate or at the very least discourage over half the presented problems.

What also should be implemented is an optional "mics only" setting, and the ability to kick any one player by voting majority.
-
What if the group just doesn't like you and vote kicks you? At oryx in the kings fall? Or they want to bring a friend in and they vote kick you?
-
How about a single clan/ party counts as one vote, and if they don't like you, its probably your fault.

That would be acceptable :)
