The Thorn. Time Till Crutch?
So I just got the thorn exotic bounty yesterday night and was able to get through to the xyur part before I stopped playing for the night.
I was just curious how long it took everyone else to get their favorite crutch weapon?
anyone who says the thorn bounty is hard is a scrub.
Also, I may hop on destiny before work real quick, if anyone else needs to get thru the xyur strike or wants to just help me. Hit me up on psn.

The bounty is insanely easy. There are only really 3 parts that you got to do. 1. Doing the strike is a joke basically. It's what level 12? 2. Void kills in the crucible is not as hard as it sounds. Just use a void shotgun, LMG, primary if you have, sub class if you have and use a sniper if your good. All you need is a good shotgun and LMG, [b]YES[/b] LMG since it has tons of ammo compared to rockets and it kills fast. I completed this part under 2 hours with Voidwalker class, a shotgun and LMG. If you need a primary, do VOG normal Atheon check point and Crota's End hard Crota check point. You can get a void weapon drop from these. 3. Xyur is a joke. You can get a fireteam and have an easy time. When you enter the last part of the Summoning pits go the far back left area and stay behind the rock. Use good scout riffles and take everything down. This is a good area for solo players also. Just stay back and pick off enemies. All you got to do is kill ads than damage phogath until more spawn. Keep and eye out to your left, since the ship will spawn troops in that area. Just rocket what ever comes up the stairs by you. Do this through the waves until Xyur spawns on the 3rd ship. Than just focus him down and your done

My first venture into PvP was to complete this quest. Word of Crota, some crap shotgun, and void machine gun on a warlock. Really wasn't difficult running through control to get the void kills. That wizard was easy enough to solo with the safe room tactic also. I read a few articles dreading doing the PvP part but actually - I really enjoyed my first baby steps within the PvP realm. Not taken the thorn into PvP yet to see what all the fuss was. Seldom came across it in control also to be fair.

1 ReplyI did this bounty back in the base game using atheons epilogue against the suros hell crucible was back then and with a not fully upgraded void shotgun. The bounty is not that hard. Hell I had a friend that camped really hard with a last word until heavy spawned then camped with a void lmg and he did it in an hour or so.

Took me a little while but I was new to the game playing a Hunter with only a void shotgun...and I don't get to sit down and play for hours at a time

Back when you had to do the Thorn bounty lower then a level 30 and with hardly any good -blam!-ing weapons it was considered "hard" Now you can do it as a 34 so of course its a bs bounty. Sit down.

8 RepliesUsed 77 wizard and an admonisher to get it done. Xyur wasn't bad, did it as a 26 solo...everyone now days needs help on that part for some reason.

I dont have too much use for it anyway hawkmoon does just fine im just curious and kinda trying to find things like that to do tired of the same routine

1 ReplyNow that I have a Voidwalker with a void Messenger, Praedyths, and Truth I bet I could do the PvP part of the bounty in under an hour. But when I first got the bounty on my Hunter without a void primary, a blue sniper, and my old trusty Against All Odds, it took me a while.

First time i did it, it took a long time because of xyor. Now, I can do it in less than a day unless i am too lazy to do the void kills

4 RepliesI soloed the strike. It's pretty easy. The crucible part is incredibly easy now that good void primaries are available. But back in the day I did it with a green shotgun.

4 RepliesIt easy now, but go back a year and be under level with all blue weapons that don't have burns and lets see how far u will go,, is very easy now when people are 8 levels above and top end guns,, I feel sorry for new people cose u can't experience how hard the game was it took people 2 -3 months to do first nightfall when game was lunched,, I think destiny treats new players like morons by let them buy all top end guns and never experiencing the true feeling doin something hard

I completed the thorn bounty within 2-3 hours. My friend said it was hard but it was actually pretty easy.
