No the hive should make an example of it. They never explicitly address it but at certain points they imply the hive are flesh eating monsters. Specifically you will find thrall hunched over munching on something.
After the first mission you encounter the hive destiny doesn't do enough to promote their creep factor. I hope TTK does more to make them a more horrific type of enemy rather thE just a bunch of hostile crabs and Meth heads chasing you as if you were the new dealer in town.

It would be nice to have a little fear of an enemy. But I think we could recover that particular body. If it happens again, maybe they make examples out of those corpses. But this one we can get back.
