I believe the answer is yes, because not only will you receive exotics but the weapons that drop for the raid help you with the raid specifically like how the voc helps in vog... and the same goes on for pvp some people I know use raid weapons for pvp. There are no level advantages so some weapons will still be fun to use. So overall y1 weapons will still be useful for y1 activities
