During Destiny's original release, all players who bought the digital version of Destiny for Xbox 360 were eligable to download a free digital copy of Destiny on the Xbox One incase they were expecting to recieve a new console that holiday season. Can players purchase the digital copy of The Taken King for the Xbox 360 and be able to download the digital copy of The Taken King on Xbox One for no additional charge? I am not sure if Sony offered a similar deal to Playstation 3 and 4 owners but my question would extend to those consoles too if they had.

Any DLCs you buy on the 360 will transfer over to the One. I had this happen for me personally when I transferred to the One shortly after House of Wolves released. However - you WILL have to buy the base Destiny game again for the One to be able to play. For some reason your copy of Destiny will not transfer over, but your DLCs, Saves & Special packages will.

I just checked the weekly update for any info on the eligibility to upgrade from Xbox 360 to Xbox One without any extra cost and it appears that the upgrade program does NOT apply to "The Taken King" DLC. So, we will need to buy 2 versions if we want to play on last gen and current gen consoles. Here is the link: [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=13347][/url] I'm upset by this... I don't understand why they couldn't allow it.

Ok, Cool! Thanks for letting me know. I guess. I assumed it was another annual game release or something instead of DLC.

OMG, how did i forget that!!! there was cross buy between ps3-ps4 as well and they haven't mentioned anything about TTK, that's the main reason why i decided to go digital and i got my ps4 in January this year, so that was a reaaaaaally good feature. Please let's bump this, the digital upgrade order for the original Destiny was announced a few days before the launch of the game.
