I'm sure most of my questions have been asked except maybe
Will we be required to pledge to a faction to earn rep or will we be able to also do it by wearing faction class items

Interesting question. Maybe having both the badge and wearing the class item will give you a slight boost in rep gain

I don't think they would giv you a way to increase rates, i'm think more along the lines of until I get a class items with a perk/stats worth using I wanna keep been able to switch factions at will.

Hmm. As far as changing factions I only know that you'll have to pay 2500 glimmer to receive the badge. From there you have to wait a week to pledge allegiance to a different faction. I'm not sure that answers your question though.
