Happy 7th, to me.

Yes, yes, I realize that I'm as late as a 15-year-old girl too embarrassed to buy condoms. Welcome to adulthood, where you can't be online all the time. I don't usually do birthday posts (in real life or on B.net), but it would be too big a shame to pass up on my 7th. I'm afraid most won't understand what it is I am doing, but perhaps there are a few left. I joined at the height of Halo 3. I was one of the '07 newbies. Strange to think that we are now the veterans, overtaken by a new race of incoming fellas. '04 or bust, right? Not anymore, it would seem. I think it would be fair to say that I've seen quite a bit of change to the community, here, in my time. First it was the Halo Community, then the darkness came and it was simply the Bungie Community. Now it would seem it is the Destiny Community. New, fledgling in so many ways, but also massive. An undeniably strong force now, if unruly, convoluted, and largely disconnected. Yes, there is much work to be done yet before this community rivals what it once was, and much of that need come from the developers themselves. It is difficult to rally together without something to rally behind. We are still missing a compelling story, custom games, raid matchmaking, crucible filters and map veto abilities: things that were largely included in a game that came out some 7 years ago. Now, I do understand the difficulties of launching a new IP and creating an entire universe, but there is still work to be done, as I'm sure the developers will be the first to admit. They have interested me enough to stick around, at least for one more game. What else to say? Oh yes, to everyone, don't forget your roots, whether you're a newcomer, a veteran, a developer, or an interloper. And remember, Choppers on Lost Platoon don't count.

  • Happy 7th i wish my account was here I was here for the whole ride, from halo 1 and now. But sadly i was in the shadows i was simply a ghost, never heard or seen. But my only solace is my emblem, it tells a different tale then what you see.
