What does your question mean? Why would your ghost lose the ability to scan things? How would the game even work if your ghost couldn't scan things?

The ghost in TTK scans and tells you about them. It is not like the missions where it sits and scans for three rounds. It is a way of implementing a little bit of the lore in destiny. My questions means will the ghost be able to do this in recent missions and patrol on the year 1 areas.
