max level 40, max light not sure. but right now if you are a 34 you have 168 light. int he demo they showed a level 40 with roughly 250 light. but the legendary and raid gear could be more. Maybe answered in the stream.

40 is the new level. Light will not define level anymore but will be separated. So new light level is unknown
