Not what I took from it. 34 now didn't mean 34 in ttk. Based on what you have accumulated I thought.

Your level is 20 now if your light level is 34 now in the taken king your level will be 34. Your light level will be the average of your attack so the power of all your weapons and defence so all your armour and your ghost.
