Except you can buy all the stuff that requires a specific rank. Any ships or shaders you have received are removed from the drop table so you have a higher chance to get stuff you don't have.

You can buy guns and armor from the get go instead of having to rank it up a couple times. What else is there that you want?

You get the ability to buy any year two exotics that you have from year one. I thought that was pretty nice. If you don't like what you see wait a couple weeks after release and see how it is.
