A lot of people are asking about the status of Etheric Light going forward..
Given that we're last than a month out, is Etheric Light still worth the grind in order to get the most of out our year one gear, if the said gear would only be used for xp / rep?
Considering that we'll be starting out at our current 'light' level, I'm okay going into TTK with one 34 and 2 33s, but if there some additional benefit - outside of level, can some one from Bungie give this community some clarification of not only how Etheric Light will transition, but the same with ascendant (outside of motes of light) and radiant materials.
I rather clean out my vault now if none of these materials are no longer relevant in TTK and not worry about dealing with PoE any longer.

To answer a question with a question, for all the guns that you get today is there any use for shards? No because they are built on a different idea than what came before, this is the same. We all need to lay down a reef and bury 97% of Y1 stuff as its all deliberately dead.

Is not about carrying or using any year one gear into TTK. - Is it still worth the time and effort to grind for etheric light just to reach level 34, considering that the starting level for the TTK content will be geared to level 25? - How will the current materials transition over once TTK is released? Specifically - will these materials still be used in the upgrade process of year 2 gear?
