So I don't think it was covered in the stream but what happens to all the old VOG gear and weapons? Will they just be used for collecting dust in the vault?
Collections page for raid gear?
Does the old raid gear drop at a better level?
I hope this is not the death of vault of glass and crota's end but I think it might be...
Edit: so yeah the gear gets lost, no big deal. But what about all the new players who have no reason to do the raid because they have better blue guns. Why would Bungie render some of their best content invaluable even for new players/characters?

Edited by reegeee: 8/20/2015 11:26:21 AMTotally agree with all of this, and a big problem with not upgrading this stuff would be how confusing all the economies and materials will be to new players. There definitely needs to be more of an explanation here. It would be so weird as a new player to just randomly have these raids with guns 6 levels lower than the entry level and materials that are totally alien. I'm amazed this topic isn't at the top. Surely this is the biggest issue at the moment?

Has not been announced yet

Goes down the drain along with the rest of it

Delete it now, it's no use anymore!;)

Wish they would make a lvl 40 version where the new enemies are at war and you have to take them all out. With new gear. But they will leave them pointless. :-(
-
It would be sweet if they would make those raids have a lvl 40 version
-
They'll stay relevant to that raid No more ascending, thank god.

Poof gone.....

I always think they should bring the raids forward. Add a higher level and drop higher level gear/weapons. Which may or may not be people's favorites. Newer players won't get the higher level option til they get to level 34.

Edited by U10515324: 8/20/2015 9:18:38 AMI think bungie will make them relevant... Most people are thinking of this problem from the point of view of someone who has raided and collected the gear. There will however be new players that have never played destiny. If things stayed as they are, and the gear wasn't changed in some way to make it more relevant, those raids would be completely redundant. And since they will be roughly 2/3 of the endgame in regards to PVE, it would make terrible design sense not to introduce new drops, or implement some sort of ascension/evolution... My 2c

Just wait for launch and find out.

The old raid stuff will still have a place in their respective raids. The gear will still be good enough gear to get your character through the next tier of items. But they will eventually be outclassed by the next tier. Welcome to the world of actual weapon tiera. That level 20 rifle should not still be the best weapon in your arsenal at level 40, stronger things will be found. Raid weapons should only be stronger than the weapons of their tier, and should be on par with the next tier, eventually outclassed by the one after that.

It is being left behind mostly because bungie done messed up and it too powerful so people don't get excited about new loot
