Should I use up all my Etheric light before The Taken King if it's not going to be used to ascend new weapons?

Why would you do that? You can upgrade new gear with those legendary weapons.

What i saw is that u can only use year 2 legendaries to infuse new gear or get legendary marks from

Since year one weapons max out at 160 or 170 light, and year one exotics start at 280 or 290, I'm not sure any year one weapons would qualify, even if they made it possible. I guess time will tell…

Why would you delete them? Keep them to show them off.
