I will miss all my armor and weapons being left behind. Not because I think they need to be ported over to year two. No, it's instead like the loss of a friend. I remember my first VoG completion when I got my Vision of Confluence, the first HM VoG when I got a Vex Mythoclast. That first weekend when I almost broke my neck running down the stair yelling 'I got Galla-horn! I got Galla-horn! And it's so pretty!' That first time I killed an unwed wizard and was given a little bit of the darkness to wield. That first time a fourth Golden Gun shot saved my life. That first boss the Celestial Nighthawk melted (32k damage FTW). The first time my reactive camo gloves saved me in the Hellmouth. The first time the Bones let me out-jump a Titan. Heck, I still got a Deviant Gravity with Field Scout I like to break out for Crucible. Now I'm not abandoning these old friends, and a few will be reinvigorated when we all make the transition into year two. But many of these friends won't be able to keep up, to come along into the future. And that's what makes me sad. Of course I will find new gear, some of which I like more than what I already have. But some of them have not just stats but stories behind them. I won't be able to delete those items because of the memories I have with them. It sounds sappy but Destiny has been my favorite over-all game, and one full of more humor, rage, and excitement than any other gaming experience. So I got to keep some mementoes and trophies, both for those times I shared with friends and those times I struck out solo.
