I Can't Be the Only One

I can only hope there are others like me. I preordered TTK, knowing it will be great fun. Played since day one, all previous DLCs, still loving it. I watched the stream, didn't hate any of it. Glad of the new stuff they are putting in. Year 1 gear "useless"? Couldn't give a flying fig. There are more things to attach to my glorious body out there, not to mention we can just break 'em down. Gjallarhorn rendered supposedly (according to forum flailers) pointless? Oh look, another flying fig. It's just a gun. I spent 200+ hours just looking for this gun before I got it randomly from a Nightfall. There might be something better on the way, even if they bring Gjallarhorn to par stat-wise. All this hate about having to re-level our exotics? Who cares, do it while you play the content. Bungie shouldn't have to spoon feed every exotic back to you fully upgraded. Work out those trigger fingers some more. I can say that I am glad I get to do that. I'll revisit all those exotics I neglected (*cough*Plan C*cough*) and maybe they will work their charms and it'll be my new go-to for shattering everything from those fidgety Hunters to the Hive. I can say with certainty that I'm excited for TTK, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Let me hear it, Guardians... Edit 1: C'mon Guardians, let's get this going. People (and Bungie) need to know how the majority stand. Edit 2: All these awesome Guardians, and not a single hater to spoil it. This is what I like to see. (Knock on wood) Edit 3: This thread is just taking off. I can't wait to see the love after the next two Twitch streams. I'm glad to know that there are at least this many people who love this game and for years onward hopefully. Keep on keeping on. Oh, and before I forget: some of you probably know me, but for those you who don't, you can call me Spaz. That's what everyone calls me. At least, I think they mean it as a name.....

I will miss all my armor and weapons being left behind. Not because I think they need to be ported over to year two. No, it's instead like the loss of a friend. I remember my first VoG completion when I got my Vision of Confluence, the first HM VoG when I got a Vex Mythoclast. That first weekend when I almost broke my neck running down the stair yelling 'I got Galla-horn! I got Galla-horn! And it's so pretty!' That first time I killed an unwed wizard and was given a little bit of the darkness to wield. That first time a fourth Golden Gun shot saved my life. That first boss the Celestial Nighthawk melted (32k damage FTW). The first time my reactive camo gloves saved me in the Hellmouth. The first time the Bones let me out-jump a Titan. Heck, I still got a Deviant Gravity with Field Scout I like to break out for Crucible. Now I'm not abandoning these old friends, and a few will be reinvigorated when we all make the transition into year two. But many of these friends won't be able to keep up, to come along into the future. And that's what makes me sad. Of course I will find new gear, some of which I like more than what I already have. But some of them have not just stats but stories behind them. I won't be able to delete those items because of the memories I have with them. It sounds sappy but Destiny has been my favorite over-all game, and one full of more humor, rage, and excitement than any other gaming experience. So I got to keep some mementoes and trophies, both for those times I shared with friends and those times I struck out solo.
