That's not how these kind of games work. Whenever there is a new level cap, current stuff doesn't ascend with the new cap, it gets replaced by new, more powerful (and hopefully better) stuff. I know people really like all the current stuff (me too), but for this game to grow and get better, it needs new stuff when the cap increases. What a lot of the complaining is showing is that a lot of people playing destiny don't have experience with these kind of games or they just havent accepted what kind of game destiny is. I know people brushed/laughed off the 10 plan Bungie announced for this game, but with some of the changes they made for year 2 shows they were serious, i.e. getting rid of the old, bringing in the new.
