Why nerf Gjallarhorn, Ice Breaker, Thorn, and Black Hammer if they will be irrelevant come 9/15? And why buff Hard Light and Nechrochasm only to abandon them?

Black Hammer, Gjallarhorn, Fatebringer, etc. will no longer be relevant in The Taken King, so there's no need to nerf them unless they don't want us to use them in previous activities. I was very surprised to see the Hardlight and Necro not being a part of the weapon upgrade if they're tweaking them to be better. tripleUPSET

The weapons should still be relevant in the crota raid and VoG.

Not really, as your attack factor will over ride that stuff. Remember that your weapons now factor into your light and that in turn shows if your badass self is up for it so choosing a weaker weapon will harm your light and killing your defence and attack.
