Did you people even think about it ramifications of this? You guys are aware that the gally and other year one exotics are going to be "frozen in time", never to be upgraded ever again. Now, I could be a bitch on the forums, calling people idiots, or claim that they are bungie's sheep.... But I'm not going to be a bitch.
My question is, WHY you are okay with the gally ( and for the sake of having a good discussion: other one year exotics ) being left behind? For most of us, these exotics (like gally) were not easy to get. I just wonder why you guys are fine leaving them behind after countless months are grinding.
UPDATE: What I mean by calling people names, is that I could be toxic like some people are. I don't want to be that toxic person. All I wanted to have a good discussion about this.
-
I'm fine with the weapons being left behind, but only if we get an equal or better weapon. It's like the government saying hey this warthog is the best plane we have , let's give you this other plane because it's newer yet we know the other one is still the shit.
-
So if the previous years weapons are going to be left behind, why would I grind year two weapons this time around?
-
I'm just disappointed with their decisions on exotics in general. I was collecting them and it's what kept me playing. But if year one exotics are getting left behind, why should I bother collecting year two weapons if year 3 will render them useless too?
-
Gjallarhorn and Thorn would continue to dominate PvE and PvP activities. That's why they're not moving forward.
-
Change is good
-
Because most games are like that? Get over it
-
Did you not have your fun with them? Gally made the game more boring anyway, no tactics needed we just nuked stuff. I'm ready for new load outs to figure out new strategies.
-
Where does it say they will be "frozen in time" Just because they won't have an upgraded perk doesn't mean they won't be upgraded to current attack values
-
I'm fine with it because I don't want to play with the same weapons for two years. What's fun about finding new exotics you'll never use? I hate that the Gally is the go to weapon for pve and is the answer to every boss, every problem, every strike. Let's just move on and have fun with new stuff. If you ever played call of duty, you start over every year with new guns and leveling up etc. I look at year two as a new game so to speak, with just the added benefit of keeping some of the stuff.
-
Don't want to have to use all the same power weapons all the freaking time. Glad we are still getting some though. I hope No Land joins the year 2
-
Because change brings new weapons to lust over.....and I like that better then the thought of every exotic I have moving forward through the game for years to come. However for anyone who thinks different I'm sorry your currently losing your favorite weapon....it sucks. I understand it cause a few I really like don't seem to be moving forward but in open to finding new favorites.

Edited by az350z: 8/21/2015 7:27:11 AMDon't want to use Gjallarhorn everywhere I go. Do you think people would bother with half the new exotics if they could just bring Ice Breaker and Gally everywhere? No, they wouldn't. It's time to move on to a new experience.
-
Everyone who makes these kinds of posts act like bungie is taking their ghorn away from them. It will still kill s**t, it just won't be as good as the new stuff, so get over it. And before some one says "I worked so hard for it", stfu, you did not work hard for anything, you just sat on your ass and played a video game.
-
Because the game feels stale and monotonous at this point. Time for new stuff. The grind will forever be a part of games like this.
-
Cuz ive never actually grinded for a gun in destiny rng gave that to me by chance and I've had fun with it while it lasted.
-
Because there's more fun to be had in the future. I'll keep a few of mine, like the Lastword, Thorn, icebreaker, and of course GHorn. But the others? Nothing good lasts forever.
-
I don't really care about it. That's why. Everybody thinks that people have to take a strong stance on things nowadays, and that's bullshit. Take it out, leave it in, I'll adapt either way. I don't really care.
-
Yes -blam!-ing ghorn can RIP now bring on the new weapons, everyone who's complaining are Whitney bitchess that need to grow the F up
-
I'm sad for the people who bought it recently but I'm glad I can ditch my beloved gjallarhorn and get new cool stuff. If you love it, set it free.
-
Because I want something new for once, leave the old and embrace the new my friend.
-
I'm happy
-
I'm more than happy with this. Gimme new guns please!
-
I can picture it very clearly now , wait for it..... The next 20$ DLC will let you upgrade old favourite exotics and legendary weapons.....

Edited by Thudd224: 8/21/2015 5:43:52 AMI'm in favor of it for a few reasons. First, the whole jelly roll drama needed to end. People were discriminating against one another, which is wrong. We need to unify and become a more welcoming community, or else destiny will drop to bargain bin status, and everyone will move on to the next big game. Second, change is good. If the game does not adapt, does not introduce new content regularly, and / or refuses to acknowledge the complaints from the costumers, it will stagnate and perish. Third, swords.

Hi (sorry for bad English)
-
People complain about bullet sponge bosses, so Bungie design bosses with cool new mechanics (eg Qodron, Skolas) People bypass these boss mechanics with Gjallarhorn and burn the boss down as quickly as possible. See the problem here? Gjallarhorn is massively OP and Bungie would have to design every boss fight from now until the end of the game around an OP weapon from year 1. It needs to die for the good of the game.
