When did Bungie ever state that you can't upgrade exotics to current power for taken King?
I specifically heard them say only a few exotics will be reworked. Meaning that they are changing some of the exotic's perks. Doesn't mean the ones they aren't changing gets "left behind" right?

The exotics that are being redesigned for the Taken King will have the "infuse" feature. Which will allow to dismantle a weapon to upgrade another. However the exotics that are not being redesigned will not have the feature, therefore you not be able to upgrade year 1 exotics to match TTK Legendaries and Exotics
