The dull dreariness of this tedious and pointless life drags on, ceaseless in it's crusade to shatter your sanity. Beyond a singular shroud of hope, lies the truth we all fear, an eventuality if you will. The inevitable outcome, the end to pain and pointlessness, wherein time no longer holds meaning, and changes are never known again. Men ponder, construing things after their fashion, yet never truly capturing what it is we wish to know. There is truly no meaning, no reason, save for what we choose to impose after staring into the void for too long. So why do we fear this outcome, this successor to life? It is inevitable as the sunrise, inescapable, unrelenting. It moves is like no other force, yet it is the completion of our existence. It is part of us, all consuming. And yet... Still it is not the whole of us until we go gently into the night. Until we surrender ourselves to it. It is the only true escape from the one thing we truly fear: ourselves. So why do we fear, knowing that we will have to face it, such an outcome? Why do we spend tireless nights, abiding this thing? Contemplating an escape from it? Fabricating lies to ourselves, that we shall go on so long as stars blaze through the night sky? We are all subject to it, and it will come for us all. My question to you, is: what will you have done, and was it worth it? What would you die for?
