Why am I okay with it? We don't need them. New exotics bring new life to the game. Some of the old weapons, not just exotics but legendary weapon to were too good. Gjallarhorn, Fatebriger? These two weapons are the most complained about as far as leaving them behind goes but they were just TOO GOOD.
I didn't "work" hard for Gjallarhorn. I xurned it.... on week 2. I've had it for a long time and one thing Bungie pointed out is a fair argument. This weapon was exclusionary. By extension, there was a dependency on Gjallarhorn and when only players with Gjallarhorn completed all the end game content, we had these "elite players" with this superiority complex insulting and warring with other players who lacked Gjallarhorn. This caused too large a split in the community. For this reason alone we don't need Gjallarhorn, quite the opposite, it should be thrown away for a while.
As for the other exotics, some of them were lackluster anyway. Just because we aren't seeing new and improved models dosen't mean we can't see them in the future, not just expansions but game releases too. Bungie confirmed our character development will carry into future Destiny releases. If Bungie's servers are now set to "remember" the exotics we acquire, they may can make a comeback. We shouldn't be so dismissive immediately and lets not mention that we have new exotics coming. Lets not forget this guy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epygzfHaDV8
