I'll make this short and sweet, as it's something I thought about last night and would like others input.
Bungie stated the exotics will come along with us on the Journey.
The Twitch reveal showed some exotics without the year 2 status or attack.
The update regarding Gallajrhorn: If you read the update carefully they say that "a select few exotics will be redesigned and redeployed for year 2"
The question asked was "will you be REDESIGNING Gallajrhorn?"
The reply was something along the lines of "No, Gallajrhorn is staying at year 1 levels, as a year one exotic."
"Levels" may be Bungie's new redesigning method, to allow for extra tiered or alternative perks.
Thus, I believe that all Exotics will move one to Year 2. The ones remaining Year 1 will have upgradeable perk bubbles for attack, but effectively remain Year 1 in style and perks. The select REDESIGNED AND REDEPLOYED Exotics will be fully upgraded to Year 2 attack values with new perks or an alternative tier.
tldr: Don't get rustled fellow Guardians, I think Bungie will take care of our Bebbehs!

They 're Exotics for a reason.

I can feel the desperation coming from this forum
-
Unfortunately not true. If you check out the stream again, you'll notice year one exotics are missing the infuse bubble. Year 2 exotics are not. They have the infuse bubble
-
This would be consistent with how they have set expectations inconsistently in the past. It's not too hard to just say what they mean, without giving away every detail if it's on the drawing board still.
