I've been screaming for Year 1 ascension for weeks now and never had anyone from Bungie make a comment on it. It seems pretty set in stone, at least for the time being. They've gone all-in on TTK and that's where their focus is. Year 1 can bugger off as far as they're concerned.
This makes me a sad panda.

And if they DO allow Year 1 weapons and such to ascend with this infusion, at this point I think we need it IN WRITING that Bungie promises not to repeat this nonsense ever again. We all thought House of Wolves with Etheric Light was a promise the last time that they had listened and weren't going to repeat the Dark Below fiasco. But now all this is happening. So at this point, yeah, we need a stronger commitment if they do end up putting TTK out there and then come a later DLC (which will cost money, no doubt) they include Etheric Light 2.0 or whatever just to try and boost sales again.

Isn't there already video evidence or some weekly update where they said they exactly what you want in writing? I think what might have happened is when they gave us the ability to ascend old gear Bungie saw just how much we didn't like HoW gear. Bungie doesn't want to make the same mistake and have competition with their new gear and therefore their new content. Ergo, no ascension.

Which is sad because what does that say about them as developers if they can't keep on coming up with new creative weapons that people want instead of just looking to re-hash what they already have? I dunno man, its just so...disappointing.
