How is what you've done up to this point being negated? If you want to use your level 20 gear the rest of the game you can. It's not being taken away from you nor is it becoming weaker than it is currently. They're just giving us gear of a higher level.

Its attack values will remain too low to be a viable choice in TTK. Scumgie is forcing us to retire those weapons. Like I have decided to force my wallet closed when it comes to TTK.

Edited by Lelouche_Vi: 8/21/2015 6:18:20 PMOk. If you're not buying the content then this argument is irrelevant to you. The most difficult thing you'll have to worry about is skolas and your current gear is more than capable of taking him on.
-
I'd rather have my time and effort respected by Scumgie, then I would buy the TTK.
-
So by making gear higher than level 20 they're disrespecting your effort?
-
Edited by Blankman007: 8/21/2015 6:32:48 PMIts not that they are making better weapons, thats fine. By making year ones useless in the taken king they are. All those extra hours grinding repeatedly through a lack of content to find those guns like bungie wanted and now they are pretty much worthless. Its a scumbag move that punishes their most loyal players. When they clearly said they wouldn't do that again after the dark below. I just want the choice.
-
How did they take away your choice? If you want to fight a level 40 enemy with a level 20 weapon that's your prerogative. It can still get the job done especially since the content for ttk only starts out at lvl 25 which is less than the current max level content in the game. They just made gear of a higher level. The didn't reduce the power of anything nor did they increase the power of anything. They just gave us stronger gear that we can choose to or not to equip.

Edited by Blankman007: 8/21/2015 6:48:38 PMActually, according to IGN, the year one weapons including exotics will now max out at 180 attack value. So they are reducing it. Furthermore, the key word is viable. Sure I can equip it, but it won't be very useful. Just like you could go to a gunfight with a pointed stick, but you won't be very effective or useful. I also get the feeling you are smart enough that you already understand all this, and you are just being a difficult desticle.
-
I'm not a desticle. I'm just not one for knocking something before I try it. And I'm not going to be upset with destiny for doing something that every loot based rpg has done since they've existed. When you level up you find higher level gear. Does that make older gear less viable in max level content? Of course it does, but it also means the devs have to put more work in to make new gear when they increase the level and I like new things.
-
Well, I'd be willing to bet you'll be disappointed. Vanilla guns > TDB guns > HOW guns. The track record hasn't been good. Plus if bungie were actually confident in the new guns they would have no problem letting us carry over the old guns. The fact that they feel the need to force the playerbase over to new weapons this way indicates a high probability that the new guns aren't that good or fun and they know it.
-
If I'm disappointed I'm disappointed. But when I see them making significant differences to everything else I can only assume they'll do the same for the weapons. Especially since what they have shown of the new weapons they are different.
-
Like I I stated....work and time spent for the gear I have now......I want them to be viable.......able to level up.
-
Why should they be able to level up? Even by the current destiny standards you don't see level 10 gear being put up to level 20 so why should level 20 gear be put up to level 40?
-
BECAUSE...that is what I want ......and.......It is ALL about me......it is that simple.
-
Lol. Troll max light level.
