Yea it isn't the best move Bungie has made but its time to move on. This is essentially a new game. And hopefully when a new title of Destiny 2 is made there will be a clean slate for new stuff to be earned. Who wants to use the same weapons and gear for a 10 year game? I find that to sound pretty boring. I've always been using new guns through the game. I've never had a weapon that I absolutely had to use. It's nice to switch it up

I want to use the same weapon in year 1 in year 10, How could you not want to have a story behind the gun. Thats what we were told, we could/should do

I believe for this title all exotics should be upgradable or whatever. But say they make a new title like Destiny 2, i would wanna see some brand new stuff to earn, not another suros or whatever. I see what you mean though

Of course theyre always gonna add exotics. Thats their job. But im saying I want to bring along a certain exotic throughout the whole series. For example TLW. Imagine year 2 and you brought that gun that can no longer be got in year 2. Thats your legend. Theres your story. Everyone will ask about it. It created lore. I am a collectionist. I will get every new weapon there is in TTK. So will the top 1%. It doesnt hurt the game. It adds value

Hard light was one of the first weapons I really really wanted and it took forever to get and by the time it finally dropped for me auto rifles had been nerfed to shit so I never even got to experience the full power of the one weapon I chased and chased. I was excited when they said they were buffing autos and then doing a separate buff for hard light itself. I really hope they bring that one back since no one has really used auto rifles since the nerf.
