You're incorrect about husk of the pit, you said "husk of the pit dropped before the games release" well that's wrong, the demo wasn't released until Destiny's launch, Husk of the pit did drop in the demo but not until the Dark Below was released.

Minor detail that I'd overlooked and mistook "Demo" for "Beta" I thought I had corrected all the instances in the OP referring to it as "before the game". I apologize for the inconsistency.
