Are you a Catholic or someone's rehashed version of Catholicism?
English
-
No, I'm Christian. Catholicism is a perversion of biblical teaching.
-
It's also the first Christian Church founded by Christ himself and dating back in an unbroken line of succession back to Saint Peter the first Apostle. I find it ironic that you'd call Jesus' church a perversion of his own teaching when you follow a corrupted version of Christianity yourself.
-
You are sadly mistaken. Jesus didn't start a church. Peter was not the first Pope. James had a church, Paul started churches, Timothy had churches. All before Catholicism. Furthermore, Catholic teachings blatantly contradict the bible.
-
Wrong. Jesus expressly said in the bible to Peter when he renamed him "you are peter and on this rock I will build my church" hence the Roman Catholic church. The only Christian Church documented for that time period. Btw. Which version of the bible do you use? The Roman Catholic bible or the one where your pastors removed books to support their ideology? And could you convince me that your denomination is supirior to other denominations?

This is just a typical biased anti Catholicism essay. First of all "sprinkled Catholicism" is called baptism. It's done to infants by parents to bring their children into God's circle. It's also one of the seven sacraments that the denominations don't celebrate. Later on in life a baptized Catholic may choose for themselves whether they truely do desire to follow Christ and live in the truth. That would be the sacrament of confirmation. It sounds like a lot of denominations skip to confirmation but it is a parents duty to encourage and teach their child about God. So why wouldn't you have them go through the baptism ceremony. Now in truth I stopped reading at the "Catholics worship" Mary bit. It became clear that this was just more repeat anti Catholic propaganda that pastors say to keep Christians afraid of Catholics. Mary is not worshipped. She's loved and honoured as the mother of God. She is an intercessor of their prayers. Catholics pray to Mary to deliver their prayers to Christ in a way that they can not. Think of it this way. Humanity could be compared to apple pickers. Our gift to god may be the apples we pick. But there are still bad apples and some that may be unacceptable to present to God. Mary would be the one to come and bake a beautiful delicious pie and present it to her son on our behalf. That's how intersession works. So prayers like the rosary for example isn't us worshipping Mary. In fact the mysteries are focused on the life of Christ. It would us asking Mary to deliver our intentions to God. Now on to the denominations, I think it's still funny that for over 1000 years Catholicism was the only Christian Church till Luther founded the Protestant church. After that everyone got their own ideas to split and reinvent a way to God.

Deny it all you want. It's the truth.
-
That's all you have to say? What happened to abandoning all forms of logic during an argument?
-
I've already presented a logical argument with biblical support.
-
No you posted a link with someones elses argument to which I replied correcting the false statements people believe. And you replied with "keep denying the truth". If you're going to have a debate that's not how you forfeit but whatever. Do what makes you happy I guess. :/
-
Everything about Catholicism is contrary to Scripture. You can't deny it. Continue in your delusion.
-
Gonna back up your claim or keep telling me what to do? Feel free to make your own argument this time btw.
-
The link I sent you outlined it all. The problems with Catholicism are too numerous to list, plus you'd just deny them anyway.
-
I didn't outright right deny them through. I explained why they were wrong and you denied that. You'd weather believe lies your pastor told you than listen to someone trying to correct you.
-
My pastor didn't tell me anything. And you're wrong.
-
Of course I'm wrong. You said so.
-
The bible says so.
-
No the bible doesn't care. It's a book. You said so.
-
You are beyond reason.
-
Did your thousand year old manual on "how to get to heaven for dummies" tell you that too?
-
Actually biblical writings go back about 3500 years.
