I understand that this is more of a gimmick than an improvement and may take more time than it is worth, but I thought I would write a suggestion considering I have not read anything on this before.
Many FPS games including Halo and Destiny have catered for left-handers for some time now incorporating controls like Leftie and Southpaw. Recently I am seeing more FPS games introducing these elements into their control scheme such as Far Cry 4 for example as the prequels have not had this option.
Unreal Tournament on PS3 and then later Xbox 360 did include left handed weapon wielding option which to me, was a stand-out feature. However, some games like the Halo series got so close to a left hand wielding option but could not let go of the right hand also taking up some screen time, of course I am talking about dual wielding! This is the closest in recent time our characters have felt some left-handed action and it was great. Imagine the difficulty of having to dual wield every time we needed to use our left hand; things would get pretty complicated to say the least. (Our dating game would go through the roof!)
All joking aside, according to many surveys 15% of the population are lefties. In addition to this, over 13.5 million people have played destiny. I do not doubt for a second that I am the only left-handed guardian to have roamed the tower. This little gimmick would be something deeply appreciated by me and most likely a large handful of gamers. Even those who just want a change of scenery would benefit from this little modification.
I am afraid that I have no experience in the game development side of things and wouldn't even know where to begin with this idea (unless we can literally just mirror the HUD). Whether this is a feasible idea or just too complicated to get started it is something that I would absolutely love!

As a left handed guardian I find this intriguing although I would probably still go with right as in this day in age lefties are frowned upon by the majority, so I have learned to be ambidextrous.

Interesting. I could think of more important things, but I'm not against the idea. I wonder how difficult it is for Lefties to wield guns in real life?

I'd much rather see dual wielding than left hand welding options. However it would be a nice little option to throw in. How hard could it be?
