24+ hour stream on 9/15 starting at 5am eastern!
So I'm a newb streamer. I plan on getting a playstation camera in the future to stream more, but I need pointers.
I am a girl and everyone says that I need to show cleavage to get a lot of views. I really don't want that. Granted I will freshen up though and wear makeup and dress appropriately but Can you give me pointers and advice? I have some past broadcasts and would love if anyone with some free time could check them out. Lately I have some cod ones so please excuse those.
I understand having a schedule helps, but I don't plan on making one until I get a camera.
Thank you so much ahead of time!!!!!

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED:
Nightbot
Be yourself, dress as you would normally.
Don't be monotone, speak well and address audience.
If camera shy, place picture beneath camera to help.
Help viewers every once in a while.
Don't straight up ask for donations.
Check other high up streams for examples.
Try to be humorous and entertaining.
Don't be berating and trolly against chat trolls.
Expect nasty chat messages as a female, ignore it.
Try to save $ to invest in better streaming equipment.
Have party chat with everyone's voice to be heard.
Create a schedule, shows commitment.
Try streaming when main popular streamers are not.
Do not rage over own stupidity and blame other players
Do not need camera, but if do make sure background appropriate and lighting is good.
Have a good microphone.
There are some more that are very specific but I promise that I have made note of them. If I seem to be missing more info please let me know so I can add them to this post and use this thread as my "cheat sheet".
Edit: Lots of sound advice from everyone. Thank you so much! I still welcome more! YwY
Edit 2: wow! So much to read! I may not Che able to comment them all but I am listening to all you have to offer! Thank you so much for trying to help a future streamer! :)
Edit 3: I've decided to do the whole cam thing. I will be getting one this weekend and trying it out for a stream. :)

Have fun with it, don't be monotone the whole time, that being said don't rage and scream at crap.
-
All I look for in a streamer is someone with a good sense of humour who can make me laugh.
-
Dont even freshen up. If you dont want people sexualizing you then wear sweatpants an shit. Its better for people to watch for personality and gameplay anyway
-
Be yourself

-
Wear what's comfortable. Don't worry about it and have fun.
-
Don't make you being a female the main attraction to your streams.
-
Be a thong streamer instead
-
Do what you enjoy, interract with the chat, and just try to act how you generally would
-
YouTube streamers seem to scream a lot for no reason. Most of the do it so that must be the thing to do. Hate it myself. ;)
-
Show some ankle ;D I'll watch.
-
If you're any good at destiny and plan on interacting with your viewers (like playing with them from time to time) I'll follow you on twitch. Hell, I'll even run raids or PvP with you. I can't tell you how many clueless females broadcast by showing a bit or a lot of skin and obtain viewers just because dude can't control their hormones. Lol. It's pitiful really. I honestly don't mean to come off as an asshole or arrogant. Good luck to you, your clan and your future broadcasts.

Firstly coming on here and saying youre a girl will get you more attention! (Maybe some of it unwanted!) Secondly, chose what you're good at and keep doing it. Get a YouTube account and upload highlights, making sure you link to twitch account. This works both ways and gives you an alternative way to get content out if streaming becomes impractical.

It's spelt NOOB ok...ok.

For me to watch a streamer, I just like to see a regular schedule and interaction with the viewers. If you do that, you can count on my watching.

MMMmmmmmmmm Femaleeee mmmmmmmmm
-
Hmm... Views or self-respect... Tough call.
-
Show us your boobies!!!
-
If you don't want to show your cleavage, don't show your cleavage. You do have a choice in this. Just stream because you want to, not because you think you'll be making money and getting thousands of viewers. Have it be your hobby and hope it becomes one source of income, not the only source of income.

Have fun Play with your subscribers/watchers Keep a chill and honest rule set for chat. Make moderators who don't go on a spree to ban people Stream what you want Don't force yourself to stream if you don't want to or don't feel up to it. Don't blare music (we all have different tastes, I don't mind if it's playing but if it's loud it gets old pretty fast.) And number one that I think makes a streamer tbh. Interaction with watchers. I dislike watching a guy or girl who just play and doesn't talk to their watchers at all. Even if you can't speak, a quick answer in chat is all good too.

Better quality stream= more viewers.

Edited by -_-): 8/28/2015 12:40:48 AMI would recommend to know when the most popular streamers get off so you can maximize view count and speak with your audience people like interacting with streamers oh and have fun

Just be your self :) get your viewers involved, I'm sure a lot of people need help running Crota or VOG
