20 days and dropping

There's 20 days until TTK drops, and I'm an avid Bungie fan. I have been since CE. Hell, I have another account on here that is 5 years old and another that is 6. I've played all their games and supported them by buying their games and DLC. I've had a blast playing their games. Yet, with TTK I can't do that. I can't justify spending the same amount of money that would get me a new game, for DLC. Moreso I can't do it because Bungie refuses to acknowledge this. UK is paying well over what they should, Australia and NZ are paying at least $10-$15 dollars more than they should and a large portion of the world is paying even more than that. I'm able to get pretty much all other DLC at a fair rate, the expansion pass to get both TDB and HOW cost me around $45 and all other DLC (Such as Mass Effect DLC or Halo DLC) has been pretty much on par with the American cost. So why now is it going to cost me more than double the cost ($100 AUD)? I don't know how there isn't more uproar! We can voice our disappointment on so many platforms (Twitter, FB, Reddit, Here). Why people are so content with being charged so much for the DLC or how Bungie thinks this is fair. Now let me step in right now and say, yes, I know what you're going to say. That I'll be missed and to not let the door hit me on the way out, that I'm just another one of the complainers. Yes, I saw dozens of posts like this back in the Halo 3 and Reach forum days and I know what I can expect the general reaction to be. So while a lot of you do your not-so-sincere send off to me, I want to ask you a question: Why don't you care, and why do you think that this is fine? See you Guardians later.

 •
I don't know how there isn't more uproar.
Have you been asleep? these fora have been awash with threads about how unfair the $40->£40 pricing is. I don't think anyone of us in the UK (in fact pretty much everyone outside USA!) are happy with the price translation but pricing often comes down to supply and demand and it might be that Bungie/Activision see more demand in UK/Europe/Australasia/etc and think they can "push it" just that bit further. Sure it's a delicate balance - over price it and you lose so many that the overall revenue drops but equally if you under price it and there is demand then you equally lose potential revenue. So there is a "sweet spot" and the accountants/marketing managers have presumably decided that for us it is £39.99 Of course the only way to combat this is for people to not buy it. The demand goes away, the price drops. But let's face it this game is bloody addictive and no one wants to miss out on the next installment. I guess you could just sit back and wait. We all know that over tie the price of any game or add-on will drop as the initial demand drops off. But that's the clever thing about Destiny. It pits player against player. Everyone wants to be the first to 34 or 40 or whatever and if you sit back and wait while the price drops then you come in as the level 32/34 when all around you will be 39's and 40's. Bungie know this and that's why they know they can get away with setting the European pricing at the level it is - they can gauge "demand" probably better than anyone (they know what the playing population is and how things are trending - even the number of viewers of their Twitch last Wednesday will be fed into their number cruncher I'll bet!).
