What you explain has nothing to do with elitists as you explain. It is all about the style of game and the race to get the weapons and gear before the next guy. Early on there were parts of the game that took some time to complete, especially with people who didn't have the proper gear or weapons to complete the activity. As things were added to the game these activities needed to be done faster in order for some to actually get through it all in a week. To do that certain strategies were formulated to expedite these activities, with the right gear that is. I was lucky enough to have two different crews that I ran with that always had enough people in one crew or the other to run these activities in that fashion.
